A Generally Awesome New Year

It's 2016! There have been a lot of updates since my last post. General now has a new pet penguin, and has hosted a few of his own parties. In other words, AJHQ introduced pet penguins and the ability to host your own parties!

Hosting your own party costs one diamond, and you get to choose from a few themes. General has chosen the science lab theme every time...

General also redesigned his Epic Haunted Manor den the other day, using science lab items. You can see the 'new' den below!

For some reason, General's Jammer tag still displays "Host" even when outside of the party...

Animal Jam's newest party, the Cloud Party, has become quite popular! This is most likely due to its exclusiveness: only members who have purchased either an eagle or owl from the Diamond Shop can enter. General thinks that the party should be changed to incorporate all animals by adding a ground layer at the bottom, even though he has every animal released so far (including both flying birds).

General Fools

It's the second of April! And that means it's time for (well, one day after) the April Fools Party, the most foolish party Jamaa's ever held! Take a look at General's Fool-arrific GIF below!

That's all for today - April Fool's! There's still some more to say.

First of all, there's a brand-new spring-based adventure titled Spring Festival. You can go play it now! According to my friend Spend E., you get a rainbow egg pedestal at the end. General still has to finish it to see if this is true!

There's also a new animal a-coming. It appears to be a gecko!

Generally Guessing

Today was an update-ful day for AJ - a new game available through the party selector, "Best Guess," has been introduced! In the game, Jammers must choose whether animal trivia statements are true or false. General absolutely loved the game, but not many other Jammers went to play it.

General was the only one to get this question right

Also, AJHQ has re-released lions. That's bad news for the people who already purchased a lion (like me) but good news for others.

General Go Lucky!

Top o' the morning, Jammers! Today is my first post in over a month - mostly because of the strange disappearance of my close AJ buddy Captain (Squiddaddy / Guintopia!) that occurred about three weeks ago. Not to worry, General is still happy-fied with the awesome Lucky Party that has returned to Jamaa!

General always wears his Rare Lucky Tuxedo, so he fit in perfectly. However, the items for sale at the party were all recycled from previous years - will new ones be coming soon?

That's about it for now! If you don't see me on AJ at my regular times, it's probably because I'm on Tiny Planets - an Animal Jam-ish game that I really like! You can play it at www.tinyplanets.com. (Don't worry, I'm not replacing AJ with other games - it's the only other game I play).

General's New Year!

It's 2015, my Jim-Jammers! That means the New Year's Party 2015 is here! You can check it out now - this time, the party's featuring items from all different holidays. Also, they've re-released the Jammer Anthem at the party.

There's not much more happenin' in Jamaa...but AJHQ has promised some stellar updates for 2015! Who's excited?

101 Buddies & Counting

Hi, Jammers! You all know that a Jammer can only have 100 buddies - or can they? I now have 101 buddies, and I know how it happened.

I now have -1 buddy slots remaining!

Let me explain. I sent out two buddy requests to two users (named "arewereal" and "nicktoons") when I had 99 buddies. Since you can send as many buddy requests as you'd like until you have 100 buddies, both requests went out and both of the users accepted, leaving me with -1 buddy slots remaining. If it sounds confusing, don't worry - it took me a while to figure this out. You can try this out for yourself, but both of the users you send requests to have to be online. According to my buddy Squiddaddy (who tested it out), a buddy request is removed from a user's Jam-A-Gram inbox if the other user gains a hundredth buddy.

That's surely confuzzling, isn't it? Now, on to my next topic!

As you know, Jamaalidays have begun, and that means that Jamaa is shaking up for the holidays. The Jamaaliday Jam party is here, reindeer pets (like Quickdeer, my main pet, whom I bought two years ago!) have returned, and daily gifts are given to all Jammers!

Generally Haunted!

It's October, and you know what that means - Halloween! All over Jamaa, Jammers are getting into the spooky spirit. You can visit the Haunted Forest Party right now!

To celebrate the new month, AJ has released an awesome RIM - the Pumpkin Throne. It's pretty cool! I also released something cool to celebrate October - a new General Today episode, available here.

Also, there are two new (and not too good) things happening around Jamaa. First, some Jammers look faded when they enter a location. See the pictures below? It's General - ghost form.

Both of the above pictures show the glitch occurring as of now 

Also, chat messages take time to be posted now (a chat message is a speech bubble in Animal Jam) as three dots (called an ellipsis) quickly appear before your message does. Me and several other Jammers suspect that this is because of new "chat moderators" who take a look at the messages before they're posted.

To test this theory, I said "Hey, chat moderators, I'm not doing anything wrong when I say this." The speech bubble showed the ellipsis again, but my message never appeared. Weird, huh?

Also, I said "Derp E" and this message appeared. Is "derp" now an offensive term? I don't know, but this is getting strange...

Is "Derp" really all that bad?

Happy September!

It's September 1st, and that means that the Summer Carnival will be leaving soon. However, that means it's closer to the Haunted Forest Party of October!

In other news, my once-retired buddy SummerKarnival has returned to AJ for good. After months of seeing his defunct tag, I was considering unbuddying him to unclog my buddy list. Thankfully, this nonmember is back! Make sure to wish him good luck.

Updates, Anyone?

Not much is going on in Jamaa today - but the Beta Party is in full swing. I love the Beta items, because they say "Beta" before the item name - which means that if you have the original, you can tell the difference (something AJ did not do with the return of imprisoned phantoms...)!

New Pets, New Loading Screens, New Party, and a New Animal?

This week's home to many new things in Jamaa - let me show you!

First, rhino pets have arrived to celebrate the return of rhinos! Along with the slightly new pet giraffe, they are some of the cutest AJ pets so far!

There's also new loading screens for AJ - and they're better than the older ones!

There's also a new party - the BETA Party. It brings back items that were only available during Animal Jam's BETA testing period - which is most likely good for everyone, because I'm not sure that anyone has every BETA item sold there.

Lastly, a new animal is coming to Jamaa - but what could it be? I hope it's a whale, I've always wanted one on AJ!

The Summer Carnival's Back!

It's that time of year again! Yep, the Summer Carnival in Animal Jam has returned! Run on over to the carnival today! However, it is not located in the My Parties dropdown menu, unlike last year, due to the Adventures link taking its place. Instead, you have to click on the various Summer Carnival banners around Jamaa to go there.

According to my very experienced buddy, SquidDaddy (the plushie collector), there are exactly 256 Summer Carnival plushies, including different colours, to be gotten at the carnival! The number of plushies has stayed the same for a while; I wonder if AJHQ is planning on adding plushies based on some of the newer pets (I would like a hummingbird plushie).

In other news, hyenas have come to Jamaa! After all of this waiting, I am glad that they have come out. They are available for ten diamonds now, but according to a lot of my buddies, they were available for 1000 gems in the animal selector for a very short time today before being moved to the Diamond Shop.

Summer Parties

It's almost summer in Jamaa, and that means many things (one of them being the Heatwave Party)! The Heatwave Party, a limited-time AJ party that comes slightly before the Freedom Party and Cruise Ship Party, features an area just like the Waterpark Den with accessories. You can buy some exclusive items there, such as the three blankets (which come in eight different colours each) and the pool (which also comes in eight colours).

Coming soon are the Freedom Party and Cruise Ship Party. The Cruise Ship Party comes first (the same day as the Summer Carnival opens), and the Freedom Party comes around the 4th of July. At the Freedom Party, you can buy freedom plushies!
